Derrike Cope - On Being At 50th Daytona 500 Media Day
Derrike Cope of Spanaway, Wash., won the 1990 Daytona 500 when Dale Earnhardt cut down a right rear tire on a piece of bell housing on the last lap in Turn 3. The Daytona 500 win was Cope’s first NEXTEL Cup win while Earnhardt won his first Daytona 500 in 1998 on his 20th attempt.
